Guardian Families
We are always on the look out for a AWESOME guardian home to take one of our puppies in. Sadly we cannot live with all of our beautiful dogs, as much as I would like to! It is essential to the physical and mental welfare of the pup to be in a family setting. Which is where you come in! It is important for you to know that the puppy will live with you as a part of your family in your home. We want our potential breeding pup to live in a forever home surrounded by their own family. We will work together over the years on and off, with Doodle Tree Farm retaining the breeding rights of your puppy. So what does this look like?
You get the pick of the litter. Your pup has tested the highest in their puppy evaluations. Your puppy has a strong body form, ideal coat and furnishings, but most of all has demonstrated the type of personality that we want to see passed on to the next generation of Doodle Tree Farm Doodles. Your puppy is the best of the best!
There is nominal payment of $500
All future Health testing is done by us the Breeder at no cost to the guardian family
Your responsibilities as a guardian family will include:
Being able to provide a stable and safe home
Somebody must be in the home half of the day, everyday
Must have dog ownership experience
Must be a homeowner
Must have a reasonably flexible schedule to enable the Breeder to arrange Health testing appointments
Be willing to do obedience classes and crate train your pup
Be willing to arrange for a carer to look after the pup if you are on Vacation or bring back to the Breeder
Look after the wellbeing of the pup/dog, diet, exercise, stimulation, medical care and regular grooming
Must keep dog on leash when in heat (or alternatively deliver to breeder while female is in season to avoid unwanted attention from intact males) For males keep away from intact females in season.
Live within 1 hrs drive from Duncan (negotiable)
To spay or neuter at the cessation of the breeding contract. For males this is age 7-8yrs, females after 3-4 litters.
If you think you are AWESOME and could manage all of these things, then we may be a match!
Guardian puppies will go to their forever at 4-5 months (we will do all health testing prior). Advantages are the pup will come potty trained, crate trained, a great start to obedience!
If for some reason the pup fails their health testing to the level that we require for breeding, the pup will be available for purchase by the family with a spay/neuter agreement.
